A new route to Lyon was inaugurated today 15th Jul 2010, an opening ceremony had taken place upon arrival of the aircraft to Lyon, on board was the CEO of Afriqiyqh Mr. Rammah B Ettir, the ceremony was attended by the Lyon airport authority represented by the president Mr.Yves Guyon and Mr. Jean-Luc Delaye the commander of the aviation security company of the airports of Lyon and the Libyan general consular for France Mr. Mohamed and the press and media personnell and many of the airport staff who all extended thier congratulations to Afriqiyah airways for the opening of this route and wished that it will add more potential to the company's growing network and it will bring more traffic to feed Tripoli hub, Mr. Ettir had expressed in his speech that Afriqiyah is committed to offer its passengers the youngest fleet of Airbus aircraft equipped with the most sophisticated interiors to furnish for the comfort of the passengers, all aircraft are in two cabin configurations 16 Buisness class in 40 inch pitch and 126 economy seats in 32 inch Pitch all having AVOD ( Audio Video on demand) and many advanced cabin features to ensure passengers satisfaction and comfort, he also thanked the Lyon airport authorities and the french authorities to make this flight possible, and wished that this flight will offer the passengers from the south of France a better service to Libya and connections to 17 African destination via tripoli" Afriqiyah will fly 4 times per week nonstop from Tripoli to Lyon as from this date.
